Agriculture:
The subject
areas that will be taught include animal science, soil science, conservation,
basic mechanics skills, and record keeping practices. Students taking this
course can receive science credits and should be interested in pursuing a career
in the field of agriculture. All students who enroll in the
class will maintain a Supervised Ag Experience Program. Students are strongly
encouraged to join the FFA.
This course is designed to reinforce and extend the student’s knowledge of science applications and principals. Students will examine major phases of growth and management of agriculture products through the use of numerous laboratory experiments and exercises. Students will maintain a Supervised Agricultural Experience Program and may participate in agricultural science activities of the FFA.
This is an
orientation level course designed to give students knowledge and experiences in
the various occupations related to the Horticulture industry. Students will
learn about topics involving plant propagation, greenhouse management, floral
designs, landscaping, lawn development and care, orchard care, and vegetable
gardening. They will be introduced to selecting and using various soil media,
hand and power tools, identifying plants, constructing and maintaining
structures, and operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment used in the
horticulture field. Students are introduced to agricultural education through
various programs offered by national, state, sectional, and local FFA
organizations.
The subject

welding, small engines, ag power units and farm machinery. All students who
enroll in this course will maintain a Supervised Ag Experience Program. Students
are strongly encouraged to join FFA.
This
course is an elective for those students who are maintaining a Supervised Ag
Experience Program through the summer. The students will accumulate a certain
number of working hours, attend the necessary field trips, and maintain an
updated record book. The agriculture teacher will make on-the-site visitations
for this course. Students are encouraged to join FFA.
This is for students interested in learning about Ag Careers, Ag sales, Ag communication skills, research projects, commodity and Ag marketing business management skills and operation skills, taxes, insurance, etc. Students will learn skills in filling out applications, writing letters, resumes, PowerPoints, interviewing, etc. Students maintain a Supervised Ag Experienced Program. Students are strongly encouraged to join FFA.
Supervised Ag
Experience Program I & II
This course is an elective for those students who are maintaining a Supervised Ag. Experience Program throughout the year on an independent study. The students will accumulate a certain number of working hours, specific skills, attend necessary field trips, and maintain an updated record book. Students are encouraged to join and participate in the FFA.
