TO: Dear GRF Parents, Students, and Staff FROM: Dr. Jean Neal, Superintendent RE: Full Remote Learning Notification
As Covid-19 continues to spike in our area, we will continue to work together to keep our students, staff, and families safe and healthy. Due to the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases impacting our students and staff, we are unable to continue face to face learning at this time. The GRF District will be transitioning ALL students back into Full Remote Learning beginning Monday, November 23, 2020. Please be advised that the upcoming Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holiday celebrations have the potential to increase Covid-19 positive cases in the GRF community. As a safety precaution to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in GRF schools the District is extending Full Remote Learning by 10 calendar days following Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. Full Remote Learning will occur the week of November 30, 2020 through December 4, 2020 and In-Person Learning will resume December 7, 2020. Following winter break, students will return to Full Remote Learning the week of January 4, 2021 and In-Person Learning will resume January 11, 2021. I recognize that each family has unique work and home circumstances. If you choose, you may elect for your students to remain in Full Remote Learning from December 7, 2020 through January 11, 2021. Please contact your building administration if you choose to remain in Full Remote Learning.
Beginning second semester, students will attend In-Person Learning four days per week until noon with each Wednesday being designated as a Full Remote Learning Day. Breakfast and lunch meals will continue to be distributed Mondays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at your student's building with the exception of winter break (December 21st and 28). Please see the attached updated 2020-2021 GRF School Calendar. Again, thank you for working with us as we continue to provide a safe learning environment for all.
Sincerely, Dr. Jean Neal, Superintendent
