We are excited to share with you that on Friday, May 2 all MMJH students will be attending a field trip to the UIUC-Prairie Research Center. The students will leave at 8:05am and return at 12:30pm. All students should dress for the weather (currently there is no rain and temps look moderate) and wear appropriate shoes for walking around the exhibits for the day. Students will be assigned small groups with staff chaperones for supervision and logistical purposes. Water stations will be available, but students must have their own water bottles to refill as cups will not be available. Please leave expensive Stanley's, Yetis, and the like at home. Snacks will be provided, and lunch will be served when we return. Any student that is late and misses the bus will have supervision at school to work on assigned tasks from their teachers.
We are excited to share this opportunity with our students! Follow the link for information about the exhibits available. https://expo.prairie.illinois.edu/
Please reach out to Mrs. Miller (mmiller@gobuffaloes.org) with any questions or concerns.

Congratulations to our MMJH Track and Field athletes on their performance this weekend at the County Meet! A number of students placed well and/or had personal bests or season bests. Way to go everyone!

Mary Miller Junior High would like to recognize Mrs Carolyn Surowka for her exceptional contributions as our 7th-grade math teacher at MMJH. Her dedication goes beyond the classroom, as she also coaches the Scholastic Bowl & sponsors the yearbook, demonstrating her commitment to our students’ growth & creativity. Her passion for teaching not only fosters a love for math but also encourages teamwork & collaboration among students in all activities. We want to congratulate her as our Golden Ruler award recipient! This honor reflects the impact she has made in our school community. Please join us in recognizing her tireless efforts & inspiring both students & staff alike. Her influence truly makes a difference in the lives of many here at GRF.

The last few weeks have been crazy busy — but absolutely worth it!
These amazing kids have put in so much hard work, and it truly shows!
Our Junior High team placed 1st in the Section 18 Livestock Judging Contest! Huge congratulations to our top three: Eli Meeker, Mallory Rollins, and Cadence Brewer!
Even more exciting — our top two qualified to compete at the State Livestock Judging Contest at the University of Illinois, where they ranked in the White category!
I am beyond proud of everything they’ve accomplished in just their first year of livestock judging.
This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to see where their talent and dedication takes them in their FFA journey!
