
Georgetown Ridge Farm Summer School 2023
Good morning GRF parents and students,
If you received a letter for attending summer school please see the information below:
* Summer school for grades Pre-K through 12th grade begins Monday, June 5th from
8 AM to 12 PM, with lunch being served from 12 PM to 12:30 PM.
* Locations: Pine Crest Elementary (Grades Pre K-5) and MMJH (Grades 6-12).
* Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 AM
* Project Success will be from 12 PM to 4 PM for the afternoon session, lunch 12 PM
to 12:30 PM.
* Students not staying for Project Success can be picked up or ride the bus home, if
they rode the bus in the morning beginning at 12:30 PM.
* Walkers and car riders can leave at noon if they don’t want lunch.
* No summer school on Monday, June 19th.
* Please click here to see bus stop locations for Georgetown, Ridge Farm, and Olivet.
* Rural bus transportation will pickup at student’s rural address location.
* Last day of summer school is Friday, June 30th.

Alaina received her book for her excellenr behavior this year, and Kaden received his for making it to the 200 point club for AR! WOW!! Way to go kids.



Samuel earned the most AR points this year in Mrs. Thorman's room and was able to pick a book from the book vending machine today.


In Mrs. Esteppe's second grade class Noah Williams was awarded a token to spend in the book vending machine for having the best attendance and only missing 3 days of school this year. The other token was awarded to Mattix Price for the most improvement in oral reading fluency. Congratulations to these deserving students!

Heads up! Tuesday when we return from Memorial Day weekend will be Two Quarter Tuesday. Have your student bring in 50 cents to receive a mini insect eraser.


Mrs. Crowl turned her class into robots yesterday and they had to solve clues to turn back into humans as they completed their escape room!





Journee, Aryonna, and Wyatt earned a trip to the book vending machine for good behavior!


Jayden Peterson earned a coin for the book vending machine for getting 125 AR points. Great work Jayden! 📚📖


Thank you to Catlin Bank for talking to our 2nd grade classes today about money. Students learned ways to save money, spend money and how saving money in the bank can be safer than saving it at home.




Abel Nelson, from Ms. Willoby’s 2nd grade class, was the lucky gold coin winner to pick a book of his choice! Abel has displayed great behavior while working hard in 2nd grade!


2nd grade students enjoyed the beautiful weather today by visiting the William M. Staerkel Planetarium to watch a Solar System Safari followed by lunch as we celebrated our countdown with extra, extra recess at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana.


Leila Thompson earned a token to the boik vending machine today for being extra observant in class. Way to go Leila!


Don't forget to join us on May 26th in the High School gym to celebrate 5th grades accomplishment!


2nd grade students started their countdown to second grade ending today. Every letter in the words second grade is tied to a different activity each day. Today we started with S, which was Surprise Guest Readers! Thank you to Mrs. Ehrich, Mrs. Vaughn and Mr. McCorkle, for picking extra special books to read to us today! We want to wish Mrs. Ehrich many years of fun and relaxation during her retirement!

Please attend the Summer Bash sponsored by the District Parent Support Team (PST) and Project Success. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School. We are having this event to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. You are all invited to attend the Summer Bash and bring your families. REMINDER -
Dental forms are due May 15th for kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 9th grade.
Eye exams for Kindergarten are due May 15.


Today was 3rd Grade's wax museum! The students learned about famous Americans, dressed up as them, created a board, and presented their research to the school and comminity. Everyone did a fantastic job!
