Students in Mr. Herrinβs second grade class have spent the last week learning about landforms and canyons. After learning the process of how erosion affects landforms, they put their theories to the test. The students created their own model βrainstormsβ to see what would happen to their landforms. The students had a messy, fun time with this activity!

Pine Crest Families! Tomorrow is Two Quarter Tuesday!

This is March! 2nd grade is fueling their energy of March Madness by having students participate in their own Reading March Madness. The competition is based on books from our Wit & Wisdom curriculum and classroom read alouds. Students from each second grade class will vote on what book they enjoyed more until our bracket is complete and we have chosen a winner. Who will win Reading March Madness?! π

Today, our 5th graders had an amazing learning experience with specialists from Ameren, diving into the importance of energy efficiency! π±π‘ It was a fun and educational session that sparked some great conversations about how we can all make a difference.
A quick reminder to parents: please donβt forget to fill out the survey in your child's folder! This is a wonderful opportunity for your childβs teacher to earn a gift card for their classroom. Thank you for your support!

Students in Mrs. Davisβs class planted radish seeds a few weeks ago. They conducted an experiment to see how the plants would respond in the sunlight and in darkness. Students had the responsibility of watering their plants daily and checking to see how they were doing!







We are excited to announce that Mrs. Esteppe is the recipient of a $325 Empowering Education Grant from the Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative! She plans to use the money to fund an egg incubator project to teach students about the life cycle of chickens.
