Thanksgiving is approaching, and Tom Turkey is already scared and does not want to be caught for Thanksgiving dinner!
Students in Mrs. Davis’s class worked on disguising a Tom Turkey so he would not get caught. This was a family project that allowed students to take a leadership role at home while having fun with their families!

Ms. Corinn and Ms. Paige visited our classroom last week. These two awesome ladies are students with Parkland’s dental hygienist program. As a part of their classes, they were required to do a presentation on dental health to a local classroom.
Corinn is a GRF alumni and chose to come visit our preschool. They taught our students all about dental health and wellness with fun, engaging activities. Each student received a free dental hygiene bag as a thank you gift!

Sage has received a book token for the book vending machine today. Sage has earned the most house points in Mr. Herrin’s class with 44 points so far this year! He has been working very hard and going above and beyond expectations this year. Keep up the good work buddy!

Happy Election Day, everyone!
Yesterday, our kindergarteners learned all about what it means to vote and be citizens. Kindergarten classes voted on, which was better breakfast or lunch. Mr. McCorkle and Mr. Barth debated in the morning, and classes voted in the afternoon. It was a very close race and lunch won by a narrow margin of only 2 votes!



PreK staff understood the assignment when it came to our Undercover Spirit Week!





Elaina earned the most house points in Mrs. Esteppe's class for the first 9 weeks! She was able to use a token and choose a book from the vending machine for her awesome character and achievements. Way to go, Elaina!

Mick Jaguar made his rounds to classes today for his upcoming golden birthday on Monday. Ms. Key's class even made him some birthday cards!


Students in Mrs. Davis’s 2nd grade have been working hard on 2-digit addition with regrouping. Today, they were able to work with partners to complete their homework. Students are helping each other on math facts when needed, using math vocabulary in their conversations and some of them are definitely little teachers in the making! Keep up the good work, 2nd grade!





Maddox, a 2nd grade student in Mrs. Davis's class, received a book token for the vending machine today. Maddox has been working extremely hard in 2nd grade and is going above and beyond participating in class. Keep up the great work, Maddox!

Levi earned a token to the book vending machine! He was stoked!

Students in Miss Scott’s class participated in a Tableau yesterday. They analyzed the emotions displayed by the main character in the book “That Book Woman” and worked together to act out those emotions to gain a deeper understanding of how the main character’s feelings toward reading evolved throughout the text.





Congratulations to Pine Crest Elementary!!!! The 2024 Illinois Report Card has been released by the Illinois State Board of Education. They reported that Pine Crest Elementary had no under-performing student groups for 2 consecutive years. #WeAreGRF
