Dear Parents and Students,
A WCIA news report was just shared with me that an 11-year-old girl from Georgetown is safe after she was found near Indianapolis at the home of a 19-year-old male who she had been communicating with online. See the report at https://www.wcia.com/news/missing-georgetown-girl-found-safe/
I am so very thankful that the child has been located by law enforcement and is safe. I am thinking about our students return to school tomorrow and how this type of situation will undoubtedly be unsettling for all of us. The District has enacted our crisis plan and we will have counselors available at the buildings to support students and staff as needed. Please reach out to me at jneal@gobuffaloes.org or 217-662-8488 or your building administrator if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jean Neal, Superintendent
