If you would like your student(s) to participate in the SHIELD IL Covid-19 Saliva weekly test and/or the BinaxNow test that can be administered for symptomatic individuals by the school nurse, please return the completed consent form to your student's building this week. Parent written consent is required to participate. Parents may opt student(s) in and out of the program at any time. The testing process should take no more than 5 minutes per week. This is an update on the threat made today against the School District. Georgetown Police Chief Renaker notified me that law enforcement have established that there is no threat to the Georgetown-Ridge Farm District. The Georgetown Police Department learned in their investigation that the threat was made in retaliation to a dispute with a student on a X-Box Gaming Console. Law enforcement have established that the person responsible for making the threat are not from this area and may be from another country. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Georgetown and Ridge Farm Police Departments, Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, and the University of Illinois K-9 unit for their assistance. This is GRF. NO SCHOOL TODAY, Wednesday, 11/3/21, due to a threat. A phone threat was made to the 911 system. Georgetown Police Department are investigating. I will update you as the situation develops. Dr. Jean Neal, Superintendent

The breakfast and lunch menus for Pine Crest have been updated. There are now separate menus for Pine Crest. You can see the daily menu items under the dining tab on the school page on the website or on the APP. You can also download a printable menu on the Food Service tab on the district webpage.

This is GRF #4. We have exciting news! The District has opened a School Market (formerly referred to as a Food Pantry) at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School that is open to both students and families. The School Market is open on school days Monday-Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and also by appointment. If you are not available during the posted hours, please contact the Unit Office at 217-662-8488 or email jneal@gobuffaloes.org or ceads@gobuffaloes.org to schedule your appointment. The market carries a variety of items such as, frozen meat, milk, staples, dinner kits, canned goods, snacks, drinks, and a variety of personal hygiene items and detergent. Please stop in and check out the new School Market and stock up on any needed food and personal hygiene items.

GRF is in need of PA (Personal Aide) and TA (Teacher Aide) substitutes and cook substitutes for the 2021-2022 school year. If interested please submit your information to the GRF District Superintendent's Office or call Sherry Redmond at 217-662-8488. PA and cooks require a high school diploma or equivalent. TA requires an associates degree, or 30 college credit hours, or a Work Keys Test (Passed).

If you filled the Opt-Out Form in error or you have changed your mind and would like your child tested for Covid 19 weekly, please contact your child's school office.
