Mrs. Balgeman's Spiral Skills class is playing Monopoly as it shows what the Gilded Age was like since one player is trying to take over everything and pushing others out. During the Gilded Age, big business leaders like Rockefeller and Carnegie did the same thing by controlling whole industries, setting prices, and becoming super rich. This made it hard for smaller businesses and regular people to compete, which caused a lot of unfair situations.

Georgetown hosted the Section 18 Forestry Competition today at Forest Glen. Our high school team placed 2nd out of 12 teams!
👏 Special recognition to Cadence Brewer, who placed 4th overall, and Aubree Latoz, who placed 10th overall out of 52 competitors. This is an amazing accomplishment—especially since they were two of the few junior high members competing against mostly high school participants!
